The day started out with half hour individual meetings with students who wanted to come and talk some more. We really loved getting to know the students better and are still amazed at their helpfulness and kindness. The meeting wrapped up around 12:30 and we headed to meet Daisy and Zelia for lunch and to get a sneak peek at a college dorm in China.
Check out some pictures on our China education page. Each room holds six students, with 3 sets of bunk beds. Each bed has an individual curtain, bookshelf and light and that is the main space the students have to store all of their books and knick knacks from home. It is like a study haven of sorts. Each student also has a closet to store clothes and there is one large desk in the center of the room to share, as well as a little porch off the back of the dorm to dry clothes in. After lunch, we went back to the outlet and met with some students, which was fantastic and then met with Sheldon, Carol and Caleb for dinner. Tomorrow we will travel to a small village about 45 minutes from Taiyuan to work with a nonprofit organization teaching English to local children. We can’t wait…..
