Last night was not a restful sleep at all. Meredith was wide awake most of the night, replaying the whole mistake in her head, trying to think of anything constructive that could be done in the morning. Finally, she got out of bed and helped Carol, Caleb, Emily and Tori make pancakes and eggs and talked to David on the phone again.

He and Vivian went out in the morning, but could not find the driver. He suggested offering a reward for the camera, so we decided to head back to the town with Wendy (another great student from the University) and look for the driver and spread the word about the reward. We are so grateful for everyone’s help and feel terrible for being such an inconvenience at this point. Everyone has been so helpful and we appreciate all of their effort. Once we arrived at the city, we started walking the main street looking at every silver mini van we could spot. With no luck, Wendy started explaining the situation to some shop owners and taxi drivers parked in the same location as our driver was yesterday. The owners and drivers were helpful and took her number and said they would give her a call if they had any information. We tried to get the word of the reward out on the street as much as possible, hoping that someone would come forward. After returning to the school, we tried to work out some details of how to replace the camera. We called our credit card which provides coverage for stolen merchandise, but they are closed until Monday. We also need to change our train ticket to be around here for a few more days in case anything turns up. The whole situation just stinks and we are totally bummed out about everything at this point, but trying to come up with some possible solutions. We did get to play RISK with Caleb and watch I Love Lucy, for the first time, with the Clarkson family which was a great end to a junk day. Tomorrow we will go into Taiyuan to change our tickets and price cameras with Vivian and Daniel. Hopefully, we will have some good news…..
