IRELAND
Travel

Total kilometers biked: 1104 kilometers
Days biked: 9 days
Road conditions: mainly sealed, some dirt/grass roads on Sheep’s Head Peninsula
Weather: unusually hot, dry and sunny; The Irish heat wave, only one afternoon rain shower
Food & Water:
Food: expensive, we ate mostly bread, cheese, fruit, yogurt, etc.
Water: always easily accessible; stores/pubs filled our water bottles with no problem
Sleeping:
Camping in wild: 80% of time while biking, spent about 5 days in Dublin with friends
Campgrounds: 20% - about $15 per night with showers
Alternate transportation: Due to time constraints, we took a bus from west of Limerick to Dublin, no problem taking bikes on the bus (had to pay an extra fee)
Maps Used: standard road map we got from friends in Ireland
Highlights: visited medieval castle, Sheep’s Head Peninsula, Gap of Dunloe was so incredible we biked through it twice
Experiences: met a nasty Irish driver outside of Cork, hung out with the travellers
